You are invited to take the 2022 State of the API survey. We're interested to learn how you work with APIs, the challenges you're overcoming, and what you see for the future of APIs.

Tens of thousands of your friend developers have already taken the State of the API survey, and we want to hear from you. Last year respondents told us they were spending more time with APIs, and that API quality was their top priority. Is that still true in 2022? Take the survey and let us know. Plus, we'll share the final report with you.

The survey only takes about 15 minutes. Once we've collected responses from you and other API professionals, we'll create a report and share the results with you.

Are there prizes? Yes.

We'll select several lucky survey respondents to win one of these prizes:

  • Sony PlayStation®5 (1 winner)
  • $100 Amazon gift card (5 winners)
  • $50 gift certificate to the Postman swag store (10 winners)

What is Postman?

Postman is a great API tool for professional and inspiring developers. Postman is an API platform for building and using APIs. Postman simplifies each step of the API lifecycle and streamlines collaboration so you can create better APIs—faster.

A single source of truth for APIs

Postman provides a cloud-based, version-controlled, centralized repository for all API artifacts throughout the entire API lifecycle. All of the Postman platform's tools use the repository, which ensures a single source of truth for your APIs. The API repository enables teams and organizations to gather metrics and discern insights through the built-in intelligence capabilities on the platform. Postman's desktop and web applications connect to the API repository through workspaces for personal, team, or public use.

You can also connect your API repository to the other products and tools you use through Postman's pre-built integrations.

With the Postman API repository, you can better simplify, organize, and scale your entire API lifecycle, whether it's for a single API or for your entire API landscape.

API Builder

Postman's API Builder helps you easily implement an API design workflow through specifications like OpenAPI, GraphQL, or RAML. The API Builder enables you to manage your API lifecycle from design to deployment and integrate with a variety of source control, CI/CD, gateways, and APM solutions—all in one place.

Postman supports API-first development with the API Builder. You can design your API directly in Postman using the API Builder. Your specification can then act as the single source of truth for your API project.

You can connect various elements of your API development and testing process to your schema, such as collections, documentation, tests, mocks, and monitors. You can version your APIs in Postman and connect elements to specific versions and releases. You can also sync your API in Postman with a remote Git repo.

Private API Network

Give your team optimal visibility into your APIs through the Private API Network, a central catalog that's visible only to your team or organization. The Private API Network supports versioning, which helps you maintain control and manage multiple versions of your APIs in the network. In addition, your APIs can be organized into hierarchical folders to mirror your organizational needs.

Partner API Network (coming soon)

The Partner API Network will allow you to control access to specific APIs so that you can manage and share APIs with your organization's external partners.
